On the Trail of '98
Heritage/Klondike Gold Rush - 7 days - June to September
Following in the steps of the stampeders, this touring itinerary traces the Trail of ‘98 from Skagway, Alaska to Dawson City, Yukon and features 3-4 overnights in historic Dawson City (heart & home of the Klondike) and 2-3 overnights in the capital city of Whitehorse. A day trip to Skagway, Alaska for an excursion on the historic White Pass & Yukon Route Railway is also included. Showcasing a multitude of community attractions and Parks Canada Historic Sites, this itinerary explores the legendary land of goldrush dreams through visits to the cabins of literary giants Jack London and Robert Service, Klondike goldfields, goldpanning sites, and Diamond Tooth Gerties Gambling Hall. Yukon River tours, shopping, dining and the nightlife of Whitehorse and Dawson are also highlighted. The world famous Sourtoe Cocktail (your favourite libation served with a real human toe) is a "must do" of this program.
Kluane Adventure
Soft Adventure/Kluane National Park - 7 Days - June to September
This itinerary is packed with exhilarating adventure outings set in and around the spectacular scenery of Kluane National Park, a designated UNESCO world heritage site. Day outings are based from the picturesque community of Haines Junction (150 km SW of Whitehorse) and often include whitewater rafting the renowned Tatshenshini River, flight-seeing over some of the world’s largest glaciers and Mount Logan (Canada’s highest peak), heli-hiking alpine meadows, hiking and biking, horseback trail riding, and canoeing. Kluane Country is bear country - grizzly and black bears abound and can often be viewed and photographed at roadside from the safety of a vehicle. Visits to Klukshu Indian Village, Sheep Mountain Interpretive Centre and an overnight at a fishing lodge are included as well.
On the Roads Less Travelled
Yukon Scenic Drives - 5-10 Days - May to September
Yukon is the ultimate road trip destination - an exhilarating combination of postcard scenics, historic communities, cultural attractions, soft adventure outings and interesting friendly locals. Yukon’s highways rank among the world’s premiere adventure drives and include the world-famous Alaska Highway, the Dempster Highway (the only public road in Canada that crosses the Arctic Circle), the Top of the World and Klondike Highways. These fascinating road trips continue to provide unique copy and outstanding photo opportunities that produce feature stories that are always in demand by the world’s major dailies and lifestyle, adventure and touring publications. Secondary roads such as the Silver Trail, Campbell Highway and Canol Roads offer glimpses into some of Yukon’s most unique but less visited communities and provide outstanding opportunities for off-road experiences. Road trip itineraries can be customized to meet special interests and requests and all lengths of stay. Ground arrangements are available to facilitate self-drives. Fishing/Lodges -7 Days - June to September
Spin cast or on-the-fly, Canada’s Yukon is a virtual paradise for both the weekend fishing enthusiast and the serious fisher. Its pristine lakes and rivers are home to a multitude of trout and salmon species, as well as other sportfishing species such as arctic grayling, arctic char, dolly varden, inconnu, whitefish, and northern pike. It is no wonder that fishing lodges of every description dot many of Yukon’s wilderness lakes. Located on remote lakes, most lodges are accessable by floatplane only. Yukon’s fishing and wilderness lodges range from upscale to rustic, but generally all feature a myriad of outdoor recreational pursuits, as well as fishing experiences of every kind, and are known for their gourmet dining fare or home cooking. Not every great fishing experience is lodge based. This versatile itinerary has the capability of providing multiple cover story possibilities by touching on many of Yukon’s most renowned and unique winter events (dependent upon event scheduling): Yukon Quest International Sled Dog Race: The trail of the world’s toughest sled dog race takes you into the world of the competitive musher - prerace interviews and events; Whitehorse race start and the mandatory layover weekend in historic Dawson City provide compelling adventure travel and lifestyle material. The Yukon Quest is the featured event and cornerstone of this group media fam tour. Frostbite Music Festival (Whitehorse): Multiple musical genres with concerts, dances, workshops by established & emerging Canadian and Yukon musical acts - a Yukon tradition for years. Sourdough Rendezvous Winter Festival (Whitehorse): The Yukon’s remedy for cabin fever, this festival brings together all Yukoners and visitors for a major winter blow-out that includes many zany activities such as the ladies hairy leg contest and chainsaw-chucking, to name but a couple. Midnight Sun Discovery Tour

This all encompassing trip combines the best activities and attractions of the Kluane Adventure and On the Trail of ‘98 itineraries. This is generally offered as a group media fam tour and is scheduled in mid-August to coincide with the Discovery Day Festival weekend celebrated in Dawson City and throughout Yukon. Travel on some of Yukon’s best known adventure roads such as the Top of the World Highway, Alaska Highway and Klondike Highway to the communities of Whitehorse, Carcross, Dawson City, Haines Junction, and Beaver Creek. You will also visit the Alaskan communities of Skagway and Chicken.
